TERNALLOY 5614 is a zinc-free alloy for special applications. It can be used with all non-ferrous metals except aluminium; it is recommended for brazing stainless steel joints exposed to water or humidity in service, as the use of this alloy helps to prevent crevice corrosion of stainless steel. When used with hard metals, the resistance of the base metals increases, but obviously this depends on various factors, such as the base metals involved, the brazing play and the type of brazing technique chosen.
Alloy not very easy to use because of its particular composition, requires great technique by the operator. In case of brazing in the air it is essential to choose an appropriate deoxidizer. It has long melting interval, it is not sliding or easy to use.
