TERNALLOY TR Trimetal alloys are composed of two layers of brazing alloy overlaid on a central copper foil. Generally, the ratio of the brazing alloy to the copper layer is 1: 2: 1, but they can also be produced with different ratios (1.4: 1 or 1: 6: 1) where the application requires.
They are used in situations where the brazing clearance is very large or when it is necessary to compensate for the internal stresses of the brazed joint during joint cooling due to the different thermal expansion coefficients of the base metals.
They are mainly used in the manufacture of carbide tools for wood and plastic processing. Choosing the best type must obviously take into account the specifications of the brazing alloy portions, which always determine the brazing parameters.
